I have had my website upgraded to work with asp and an access database, but I'm having trouble uploading the pages. My ISP has created a Windows NT partition and told me where to place the database, etc. I can make a connection and upload with CuteFTP using the FTP info they sent me, but I can't make a connection using UltraDev. I have been searching the web all night for more information and think I have tried every possible option suggested on the macromedia site. Still nothing works.

I know the site is configured for asp, because I uploaded a file called servermappath.asp and it works fine.

Does it matter whether I upload the asp files with UltraDev or CuteFTP?

Any advice about uploading to the remote server would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Andrew

In case anyone else has similar problems, here is what I had to do to get my asp pages working.

I was never able to make a proper connection with UltraDev, so I uploaded the database and asp files with CuteFTP. My ISP stressed the importance of naming my database properly, but they failed to mention the importance of the DSN connection name and the directory structures. So my pages wouldn't work until I rebuilt my directories to exactly match my ISP's, created a new connection and uploaded the files again.

What amazes me is that I searched the web and read many tutorials about UltraDev, DSN connections, etc, and I couldn't find one that covered the basics of uploading to an ISP. All they covered was connections on my computer using Microsoft Personal Web Server.

So I guess my advice would be to talk to your ISP before spending too much time building your site, because the directory structures, paths, file names, etc, are very important.
