I have setup php. apache and mysql on my Win XP machine. One question I have is do I have to save all the files in my htdocs folder? I am unable to preview files by clicking preview in browser. I followed the online tutorials to set these products up and they passed the tests but I'm having trouble with previews unless the .php file is in the htdocs folfer.tia

The htdocs folder is the website root when using Apache.
If your pages are not in that folder, then it is impossible to preview them, as the PHP Parser will only be set up to look in that directory.
When you type:-
localhost/ the pages that you view are the ones in the htdocs folder, so yes, you <b>must</b> put all your pages there and also configure UltraDev to recognize that folder as your webroot in 'Define Sites'.

Am not sure i understand that question. Normally u just use an ftp software which is already in-built in DMX. All you need is to know which folder to upload it too and the login access.

yeah me neither do you mean your own server or the one on the web? use local/network as the access method for your testing server, that should work
