When I try to preview live data, I get the file not found message suggesting that perhaps I don't have an app server running or my localhost dir does not map to my remote folder.<img src="dhcp-047-175.cns.ohiou.edu/innisr_web/ultradev/errormessage.gif" border=0>
But it does...
Here's what's confusing me specifically:
I know that Dreamweaver generates temporary files (i.e. "Results_fdkj3dk2.php" to show a page in the browser or whatever without making changes to the actual working file. Well, if I say "File...Preview in Browser," it indeed writes the file to the directory and the file does display with dynamic data.

But if I do Live Data View, it is as if the temporary file is not being generated and passed to the web server. Though I think all my settings work.

My setup:
MacOSX running PHP/MySQL as local App Server
MacOS9 running Ultradev with Phakt extension
I strongly believe that my use of Phakt and PHP/MySQL situation is not part of the problem.
Anyone who could lend any insight, I would be happy. I am new to Ultradev, so go easy on me if this is a stupid mistake on my part. <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

This looks to me like a configuration issue in your "Define Sites".
I see you have posted the Application Server portion of this dialogue, but none of the other sections.
Ensure that the Remote Info section has also the correct settings.
Sometimes this error occurs because of a permissions issue. ie: You don't have permissions to write directly to the web root, which could also explain this problem.
I sometimes get this error when trying to connect to the web server via SAMBA across my network, and I've found that the best recourse is to switch from Local/Network to FTP.
Hope this helps

So Tim...
You're the only person who posts responses on this list or what? Or the only one who saves my butt at least?
Okay, you're right once again. For whatever reason, replacing "localhost" in my Define Sites dialog box with the actual ip address I'm at takes care of it. I just felt like it was only settings under my application server that would cause that error. Guess I shouldn't assume anything. <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
Anyway, thanks for helping me along. I'm figuring this out and really enjoying it. I'd still be fumbling if not for your help!! Thanks again.
