Ok ok I admit... I am an absolute newbie regarding Linux. I recently got an old pentium 200 with 64 MB memory and I am thinking about turning it into a linux box. This way I can run php and myswl on it and test on such system also.

So now here are is my question:
Which Linux distribution is the best one to start with for a beginner? It only needs to run as a webserver for php. I also want to connect to that pc from my win200 machine using a local network.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Waldo, the linux newbie.

RedHat 7.2 came out a couple months ago, I use it and its pretty good. I haven't found any major bugs. Also I would get a program for it called Webmin, it allows you to log into your server remotely and gives you some sort of a gui. You can get it here: sourceforge.net/projects/webadmin/
If you have any other questions about it just post.

If you want something user friendly then Mandrake 8 or 8.1 is the way to go.
