Hi, I want to use Udev to upload my files to the remote server. on my local site i have a lot's of files which i don't want to be uploaded. is there a way to tell Udev ONCE NOT to upload some specific files instead of allways have to do a preview of the syncronisation and uncheck those files? Before i used ws_ftp and i'm tired doing this manual work all the time!Thanx for your suggestions tom/vienna/austria

it sounds like you have checked the "Upload dependent files" option when you FTP'd to your site and also "Never ask this question again". Does this sound feasible?
If you have go to: Edit > Preference > Site and alter the "check Dependent files boxes" this will give the otption to upload only the files you have selected in the FTP window

Hi jaysun, thanks for the response! At first: this was realy checked! But however, it is still not much better to work with udev-ftp. Sometimes I do a lot of changes in many files and then I would like to upload files which are newer at my local site at once. But when I say "menu:site>synchronize...>whole site>copy newer local objects to remote site>preview=checked" (sorry for that but i use a german udev version and i don't know the exact english names of the menus) then it looks up to the server and compares the whole local site whith the whole remote-site. But I have folders and files in my local site which I don't want to be uploaded. But udev allways recognize those stuff and want to upload it because it is not there (also vice-versa it likes to delete files on the remote site which I do not have on the local site). In simple words: I would like a function to set a folders or files attribute to "never upload". It is a bit difficult to explain but may this makes it a bit clearer.
However, I think MM have to do a lot's to make the ftp'ing useable in udev, I think I go back to ws_ftp or write some dos-ftp-batches Thanks anyway! Tom

To be honest Tom I would never use an automated/synchronize ftp system as I wouldn't trust it
The best, and safest way to work is to manaully move and remove files yourself, both locally and remotely.
Get a dedicated FTP program........cuteftp pro is pretty cool www.cuteftp.com

Yes, your absolutly right Jaysun! I'm sometimes just too lazy and prefere to automate things! Aren't you as well with your automated extension updater Tom
