Anybody have any experience in compiling php 4 for Solaris 8? A resource or tutorial would be mighty helpful, since we continue to get an Apache error when we try here. I wish there was a PHP/Solaris binary available somewhere ...

Hi Ryans,
maybe if you post the error message we can help <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

The error is on the start of apache after compiling. It does not occur before compiling.

I have had this error a couple of times myself.
It happened because I had incorrectly edited the httpd-conf file whilst trying to add Addtype,Scriptalias and Action for PHP.
I had kept a back-up of the original file and when I replaced it apache started.
I think Apache is now up to 1.3.22 now as well, so it may be worthwhile upgrading.
