I hava a script that created a mysql database backup that puts a file on the server. I placed a link on the page to this file but instead of the file downloading, output is sent to the screen. I have done ths before and it normally works OK.

Any help appreciated.
Mike.

I am not too sure on this but it might be how your file types are set-up to use other programmes.

Goto -> My Computer -> View Menu -> Folder Options -> File Types tab.

Now look for the type of file you are downloading (.sql) or whatever and see what programme it is using.

If it is using a programme remove it from the list. This could be invoking IE to display the file.

Worth a try anyway, good luck!

Mike,

Me again. Any chance that you'd consider offering this finished script as a download? It sounds like a great one.
