hello,
i am having trouble connecting to my LAN server(running windows 2000 advanced server with sql server 2000) with utradev to define a new dsn. when i open up the connection window, define a new dsn connection and select a dsn to use, as soon as the select obdc window where i would normally see a list of dsn's i get an alert box that says "http error code 401 unauthorized" and i cant see any of my server's system dsn's. i know that i am authorized because it is my LAN server. does anyone know what could be wrong? i am pretty sure it is windows that is the problem, not ultradev.
thanks,
philip

the first question I would ask is, Do you have access to the server over the LAN?

I think answering that question would go a long way <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

I also had problems with defining DSN with DB on LAN Server. I haven't found real solution just stopped trying. Simply, define DSN localy and save yourself from trouble.

i can work around it by setting remote and application server info to local/network instead of ftp, but i would like to be able to connect and work remotely. i also cannot define the dsn localy because i am using sql server which is installed on the server.
