I have seen this before but am stuck on how to do it as I'm new to UD. I want to produce a site which has a number of news pages e.g. News Archive, 'Stop the press' etc and when a user initially views the site the date/time they viewed will be logged. If a new page was then updated and they user came back to the site a pop-up window will appear indicating that new news has been added, and offer them a link to the relevant page.

I presume this will use cookies and it is probably easy to do, but I can't find anything about it online and I don't know enough about UD to work it out.

Any help is appreciated.
