Hello everyone,

I'm bumping into a bit of a problem, hope someone can provide pointers to help me...

I'm building a completely new Dbase driven site, all nice and well, Dbase driving it is shooting above 30 tables and now yesterday my manager decides that he wants to incorporate a existing "Knowledge Management application" built in ASP, running off a 25 table Access Dbase.

Ok I said, i'll see how it goes, should be no problem.
So today I looked, works great, Dbase is setup really logical and then i bumped into this problem...
There's like 30 protected .asp pages which were coded by hand at the time, my question is:

Can I import these into UDev and how ?

I tried some time back to load up this statcountex thingy and that gave SEVERE conflicts after applying a login behaviour to it, got nothing but errors, kept deleting lines till all that was left was basic HTML and the login procedure, so that was really useless.

I'm really hoping someone has had this problem and found out how to deal with it without having to start from scratch, I might need to start from scratch anyway, cause the 2 databases (total of 60 or so tables) have some similar tables, my web Dbase has a User table and the Knowledge Dbase has a Employee table, think i'll opt for the Employee table, since it is setup more logically and allready has all the required fields, only have to add 1 field to use it in my website setup. But the Dbase isn't a problem, my problem is getting these ASP pages to do the same thing in UDev AFTER i add any behaviour to it. I know i will end up in error heaven again if i try without knowing how to go about this.

If anyone has experience converting existing .asp pages into UDev .asp pages then please share your experience with me and the community, i might write a tutorial so others will know how to as well.

I just don't want to re-invent the wheel again.

I have no experience with this, but when te existing code is causing errors (being deleted etc etc) you might want to try to turn them into server behaviors so UD recognizes them. But I am affraid that that won't help.

Sounds very weird to me.

I meant to say that I kept deleting lines that errored, yeah wish i could turn them into serverbehaviors, but that won't help cause i still got no time to learn scripting.

Anyone else ideas ?

In the meantime i'll also post this in the MM forum.

Cheers.

No, i ended up starting from scratch, one behavior at a time, carefully documenting EVERYTHING, now it's almost identical to what i wanted to use...

Still, if anyone knows how to do this, then I got other web-based projects still waiting to be UDev'd...
