This used to work but no longer does. I don't think the Calendar2 extension itself broke this. I think that maybe one of the updates to one of the included libraries broke it. Setting it to -1 or any other variant of a hard-coded date doesn't work, either. The only workaround that I have found is to set the initial date to an arbitrary date in the future, like 2013-12-31.
