Need help making shopping cart and linking pages to it

Im having problems developing a e-commerce site for my senior project class.  I want to make a simple e-commerce site for a woman's clothing store but I am having a hard time figuring out how to make a shopping cart page where a customer can click on a item they want and it stores in shopping cart and checks out at the end.  I've only had one semester in dreamweaver and im still fairly new at this any help would be appreciated.
