ive just found a free host that gives me database access, ( lots of you know how hard this is) and I dont have access as a choice anymore, which is what i was using before.i now have either PostgreSQL or MySQL as a choice.
so i was wondering which was better, or worse and if there was any way of exporting the data from MSaccess to one of those new formats...

Choosing a database has many issues, like do you need transactions, stored procedures, etc...
But for my money, I would choose MySQL since it is so much more common than any other DB (especially if you are in free hosting sites) This overrules other considerations for my needs. If I needed the stuff MySQL does not support, I would choose MSSQL for the same reason
