I have been looking around for a reasonably priced PHP ecommerce extension and came across the intellicart, it looks good but all references to it seem to have been removed from both dmxzone and the macromedia site, is there a reason for this? It seems a little suspect. Secondly if there are issues with the intellicart can anyone point me in the direction of a similar extensionThanks

First of all IntelliCART has never been listed at the Macromedia exchange. Unfortunately the license that Macromedia ask you to agree to, to have your extension on the exchange gives them total irrevocable rights to modify, create derivative works of and distribute commercially any extension. This is totally unacceptable for a commercial extension, and Macromedia agree. We're currently working together to provide alternative licenses to commercial extension developers.
I know other commercial extension developers already list their extensions on the exchange, but frankly, this is a timebomb. I've been stung far too many times, just to leave things like this to chance.
References to IntelliCART have been removed from this site because I used to sell the UltraDev 4 version of IntelliCART via this site. However, this version is now obsolete.
IMX (IntelliCART MX) is currently being used by many developers worldwide. Sites built with IMX include:-
www.thanedirect.co.uk
www.eurodns.lu
www.cameracentrecardiff.co.uk
www.royalbohemia.com
amongst others. More information can be found at my website www.rawveg.org

Just as an addition to the above. You might also be interested to know that Macromedia themselves have been promoting IntelliCART MX since before its launch.
All of the Macromedia Sales Engineers are licensed IntelliCART users, and have given demonstrations at Macromedia Seminars and conferences around the world. This also included the PHP Conference in Frankfurt last year, where Dave Demmings, Product Manager for Dreamweaver MX demonstrated IntelliCART MX's capabilities.
I hope this helps

Hi Tim
Thanks for your reply, the product itself looks fantastic and I am extremely tempted to purchase in the next few weeks, I was just a little concerned that I couldn't find any reference to it on MM and dmxzone. Once again thanks for the response I hope to be making my purchase within the next couple of weeks
