HAd PU3 v4 and SIP2 v1 working OK until new year, now client reports an error when trying to modify a record (one of the files in the script library).

Updated to PU3 v6 and SIP2 v2

Can create new record and upload an image, image is re-sized OK and thumbnail created. If I try to add another image to the record with a modify page second image seems to upload but I loose the link I had to the first image and the second one dose not appear either.

This is not the first time I have asked about problems with these two new extensions, I had a perfectly good working site before PU3 and SIP2 now all I get is complaints from my clients and a load of problems to sort, to make it worse no-one seems to replay any more either!!!

Just checked the entry in the access database for the test record and the two coloums which should contains the reference to where the image is are blank.

Looks like somethings going wrong with updating the database.

The images are uploading OK and the thumbnails are being created, just the entry into the db its'nt working

Check and make sure that your "Insert Record" is still adding the file path to the correct DB table column - sounds like a mapping issue.
Just curious, but if your upload and resize were working well before on a site that clients were using why did you upgrade and redo them using brand-new extensions? Just my 2 cents, but if it ain't broke don't fix it. <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

I'd like to know that too...

I upgraded because the client wanted to put a watermark on all their images, something SIP2 does but not SIP1.

As you can see from the number of updates with PU3 (now version 6 and its only been out 6 weeks or so) things aren't going to well.

Have re-check to see if I can find any reason why I'm having problems.

If I create a new record the PU3 and SIP2 work fine, the file is uploaded, watermarked and thumbnail created plus the path is put into the db.

If I just modify some text in one of the fields in the record the loading image windows still pops up as if an image is being loaded and I lose any path info in the db to all the images in the record. If I upload and image then the images seems to upload and the thumbnail get created by the image path is still not being put into the db.

I can only guess that SIP2 is causing the problem somewhere.

Complete hacked off now....

Re-installed PU3v4 and SIP2 v1. First time I tried to updata a record with an image it duplicated the record about 20 times !!!!

Re-installed the db (good job I backed it up before starting) and second time round back to getting the error;

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e14'

Syntax error (comma) in query expression 'cat_id = 2,'.

E:\FRONTPAGE\GRAFITECPLC\ADMIN\../ScriptLibrary/incPUAddOn.asp, line 79

GOING BACK TO PU2 and SIP1 till someone gets this sorted... and to think I paid good money for all this extra work I'm now having to do because no proper beta testing seems to have been done before release.

Same thing happened to be... on an Update you need to bind the existing path to the File upload field even if you are only changing text and not loading a different file. Not sure why it does this (as PU2 didn't) but that is how I got it to work.

Back at it again.

Have created a test site and installed PU3 v7 and SIP2 v2

Now when I try and modify a record I get this error:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01b6'

Object doesn't support this property or method: 'img.TransparencyColorExists'

E:\DOMAINS\company\WWWROOT\ADMIN\../ScriptLibrary/incSIP2Class.asp, line 1707

Asked my ISP to re-start their IIS server and they replied asking me to test the database again.

Reverted back to PU3 v4 and SIP v1 as these did work together before.

Now all I get is:

Image Processor: No component detected
There is no supported component detected.

What exactly is looking for.

Please can I get some help from the makers of PU3 and SIP...

I paid good money for these extensions and no-one ever seems to reply to any of my questions.

I may have to go back to PU2 and SIP1 if I do not resolve this soon...

Can someone please tell me why I'm getting the error message:

Image Processor: No component detected
There is no supported component detected.

All the files in the scripting folder are uploaded and the dll in the bin folder is uploaded so why is it not working !!!

Tried your suggestion of binding the recordset entry to the file upload field...

Didn't work.

Tried adding a hidden field (as per the PU3 manual), just got an error because I was basically creating two fields with the same destination.

As I've mentioned elsewhere the insert works fine, just the modify which is a complete pain...

All I need now is the developers to take note of the postings on this site and make some suggestions...

Binding the recordset entry to the file upload field solved the same problem you had for me.
Not sure what else to tell you.

Hi Charlie,

If this is still an issue for you, I may be able to explain it, but not fix it. I'm having the same problem and I think its because my ISP (I have a Donhost reseller account) has an older version of ASPJPEG installed on their systems. I'm guessing that the older versions dont support the watermarking and text overlays in the same way as SIP2 needs.

The error I get is:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01b6'

Object doesn't support this property or method: 'img.TransparencyColorExists'

/ScriptLibrary/incSIP2Class.asp, line 1701

Can DMXZone please confirm this is the correct diagnosis?

Nick
